Focus Groups

YES! Your opinion not only matters, but it is VALUABLE!!!

First, let me tell you what a FOCUS GROUP is in a nutshell. A focus group is a group interview involving a small number of demographically similar people or participants who have other common traits/experiences. Their reactions to specific researcher/evaluator-posed questions are studied. Focus groups are used in market research to understand better people's reactions to products or services or participants' perceptions of shared experiences. Companies pay for these sessions to be held because it is research GOLD for them...it helps them understand their target customer in exchange for the money in your pocket!

I have been a participant in focus groups for two different companies:

Both Schlesinger and Respondent offer online opportunities as well as live or in-person opportunities, so you can pick which option works best for you. An example of what you can possibly make doing focus groups, I earned $175 to sit in a room with about 10 other people and discuss how I felt about cleaning products for a couple of hours! AND THEY FED ME TOO!

While I have only worked with these two companies personally, I am sure there are others and all it takes is a bit of Google searching to find them. As with most opportunities that I share, they should not cost you anything to sign up. If you find a company that is asking for registration or sign-up fees, WALK AWAY...better yet, RUN! 

Ultimately, this is a decent side hustle. It is not as consistent as secret shopping, but it is a great supplement to any hustles you may be performing.
